Clivia earned her Bachelors of Music at California State University of Fullerton, studying under internationally-renowned flutist, Jean Ferrandis. She has earned multiple awards and scholarships during her collegiate studies, and has performed in masterclasses for flutists such as Nikolai Duchamp, Carol Wincenc, Leone Buyse, and Demarre McGill.

 

Her experience wearing multiple hats as a performer, educator, and nonprofit worker has shaped her into a Swiss army knife of the music scene.

Performance
 

Clivia has enjoyed performing in a variety of settings-from coffee shops and dive bars to world-renowned stages such as the Renee and Henry Segerstrom and Walt Disney Concert hall. She has often performed as principal flutist with orchestras such as the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra, San Gabriel Valley symphony, Synesthesia Sinfonietta, Elite Choir & Orchestra and more. She also performs regularly with her partner, Nick Godoy, on guitar in their flute & guitar duo, Duo Libera

 

Education

She has taught private and group instruction for flute and piano, and has also served as a flute and woodwind clinician for youth ensembles and orchestras such as the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra. Other ensembles she regularly taught include Claremont district elementary & middle school bands, Loara High School, Katella High School, and several other schools and youth ensembles in the Los Angeles and Orange County area.

Nonprofit 

In addition to performance and education, she has extensive experience in nonprofit work which began with her internship with Clazzical Notes in 2015, where she assisted in grant-writing, program development, and event coordination. In 2019, she co-founded an orchestral ensemble, Synesthesia Sinfonietta, with Isaiah Castro, to provide quality concert programming and community outreach music programs to local communities. In 2022, she worked as a curatorial associate for MUSE/IQUE. One of the concerts she curated was featured in the LA Times.
